AS AN EXAMPLE HERE ARE PICTURES OF OUR 70 MPH TRITOON TWIN SUPERCHARGED VERADO MERCURY OUTBOARDS MOUNTED ON JACK PLATES AND ON THE FASTEST TRITOON IN THE WEST, ADD A 3RD

ENGINE AND CROSS THE 100MPH BARRIER WITH YOUR NEW SOUTH BAY TRITOON.

http://mohave.craigslist.org/bod/3207655416.html

That's a freaking beautiful boat! That's probably the only way I would ever own a pontoon.

And no, I'm not a sales man for SouthBay... Just saw this thing and started drooling all over my keyboard.

Fit and finish looks awesome. :thumbsup

Maybe its just the size of the whole rig being so big but the toons look small in diameter.
How does it not catch air and come over doing a 100 with 3 whackers on the back.?

JR Motorsports is having one built right now for a customer! :D I should ask to see the build sheet and get a price.

Just clicked the craigslist ad, that is the one for JR motors.. If it's down there I'll go take some pics of it tomorrow. :)

Convenience of a toon.. I will say something that someone told me once that kind of makes a lot of sense with the argument between a toon and a deck. A friend of mine spent a bazillion dollars on a toon and I asked him why not a deck, and his response was "Ya know Dave, doing 45 mph down the river someone will get up and walk to the cooler and grab a beer in my toon. When is the last time you saw someone stand up and walk to a cooler in a deck boat." LOL.. He's right, in a toon you can still get up and move around.

Toons are awesome but paying 60k+ is lame. The best part is smashing them into stuff and not crying when the interior gets hammered:D

Ok, I've never owned a toon or a Deck boat. Are you saying the toon's ride so much better than a deck that you can walk around leisurely while going 45 on a toon where on a deck you couldn't?

I've had both, and yes.

I'm saying that a toon is a floating patio, and a deck is a boat with a lot of seating. The sides on toons are taller, and people are not afraid to get up and walk around while cruising. In a deck people just don't do that.

Moot point for me really. The one being advertised looks bitchen by the way. Neither of them seem to meet the needs of my boating style right now, let alone budget. So do you think it's more of a image thing buying a deck over a toon? Honest question.

Yes no question! My toon does not hit hard on heavy water.

That's an awesome looking toon! Those performance numbers with triple's seems optmistic, I'm guessing it hasn't been done yet. Typically 50% more power doesn't equal 50% more speed. The added drag of another gearcase, increased drag at those speeds, etc., would prevent those #'s.

I have been playing with the set up and found that they had the engines way too deep. I still am about 2-4 inches deep but I am out of adjustments. I need to remount the set back bracket up and I think I need to put a 5 degree positive trim spacer in so I do not have run with so much trim. I have put on the low water pick ups on the engines to keep the enignes cool.

Supersized Tunes which are wider and deeper.

Twin engine boat is quite a bit wider than the normal boats and you have walk down step in the center between engines which is nice.

But your boat does not have high back recliners that swivel 360d.

What size prop are you spinning?

the whole idea of toons is they are a cheep way to get every one out on the water..

you watch, shit'll start happening when you run a toon that fast..

you can take every one for a ride in a hay wagon...that don't mean you can put a big block in it and race BAJA:bash::D

How much structural engineering do you think is done in most boats? Not much. I do check all my toon boats, braces, brackets and always looking for something that could cause a problem. I have seen up close a glass boat come apart at 60mph and it was not pretty. The boat was coming back from Havasu Springs in pretty choppy water and came apart. Glass and wood everwhere! Take a look at the outdrive stock steering and look at what really holds it together. Scary

I had a 22 Howard OffShore. Was the boat left outside or inside?

My old 21ft Sanger which still hangs out in Havasu still looks good but I it has had gallons of protectant on the interior and never stored outside. When it was towed it had a cover all the time. It only stayed in the sun 20 days a year!

not anytime soon, they use about three time as much fuel try'n to go 45...

At 45 I am not even into the Vtec mode with the twins. Both engines are smaller than one big block.
